Important Hardware and Software in Language
Learning Process
HARDWARE
Hardware is the machinery and electronic parts of a
computer system. It refers only to the
physical parts or components of a computer. It can be seen and touched. In
language learning process, there are some hardware that can be used to help students
understand and acquire the material. Those are
1. Image scanner
It is a device for examining something or recording something using light,
sound or X-rays.
2. Headset and microphone
It is a device that is used for hearing and recording sounds or for making
your voice louder when you are speaking.
3. Pointing device
It is a mouse or other device which allows you to move the cursor on a
computer screen.
4. Webcam
It is a video camera that is connected to a computer so that what it
records can be seen on a website as it happens.
5. Speakers
It is the part of a radio, computer or piece of musical equipment that the
sound comes out of.
6. USB Flash drive
It is a small memory device that can be used to store data from a computer
and move it from one computer to another.
7. External Hard drive
That is a disk outside a computer that stores data and programs
8. Modem
It is a device that connects one computer system to another using a
telephone line so that data can be sent.
9. LCD projector
It is a way of showing information in electronic equipment. An electric
current is passed through a special liquid and numbers and letters can be seen
on small screen.
10. Camera
It is a piece of equipment for taking photographs, moving pictures or
television pictures
SOFTWARE
Sofware is all of the programs in computer system. It only can be seen but we cannot touch it
directly.. In language learning process, there are some software that can be
used to help students understand and acquire the material. Those are

It is a slide-based presentation program developed by Microsoft.
